"there's only a handful of motherfuckers that do that." "You be THAT guy." — DAD

Text message from Dad: 'This is my oldest sons passion as well as skateboarding, he's got parallel talent in both, his mom doesn't like it, and wants me to do something about it. I encourage all my kids to live their dream or live the nightmare of regret.' — with two photos of Taj's finished ENEMY graffiti piece under a bridge.

“We ain't heard nobody talk about how they took their unsponsored skateboarding son with a god given talent to spray-paint, and built an empire...”

Instagram post from Mom (@koutlaw), 'Go Skate Day': 'Go Skate Day 2020. ATL takeover—They caught my firstborn @tajoutlaw flying last weekend. It's my fault really (as my hubby just reminded me). I bought the kid some Heelies when he turned 8, then rollerblades and that was all she wrote. My baby has loved flying on wheels ever since. I can't watch, but I take joy in his passion. #flybabyFLY' — with a photo of Taj boardsliding a rail in front of a crowd.

"I didn't promote any of this." "i just supported it." — DAD

Four words

When Dad first found out Taj was style-writing, every instinct told him to make his son stop. However, what Dad couldn't overlook was Taj's raw talent, nor his passion for art, which he's had since he came out the womb. Dad couldn't tell Taj how to get better at style-writing. It's not something that can be coached. The only thing Dad could do is say, "SEND IT TO ME," because those words carry a level of expectation only Taj could know.

The kid who couldn't put it down

Truly a skating purist, Taj spent countless hours honing his skills. It was only a matter of time before the backyard wasn't enough for him. The "NO SKATEBOARDING" sign feared Taj Outlaw because anywhere was his skatepark.

One frame, eight years

Eight years ago, Dad pulled a single frame from a video of his son skating and paid $30 to have it turned into a silhouette. He didn't even know what he was going to do with it — but something told him it needed to be made. That very logo, created eight years ago, commissioned by a father who believed in his son, is the same one we proudly stand behind at Outlaw Art Group. It never changed.

“Often imitated, never duplicated.”

Outlaw was never just about putting Taj on. It’s about every skater and every style-writer nobody’s put on yet — the unsponsored, the ones with the talent and none of the co-signs. We know what one send it to me can do. This is ours — to all of you.
